Pearl and Paua Perfection

Categories

Last night I enjoyed a very pleasant drive out into the countryside.  It was a gorgeous evening.  Although it was past 7 ‘o clock, the sun was out and the sky was blue.  The scenery, with the green fields, the cows, the sheep, and the gorgeous cottages, and the names like “Muggin’s Lane” made we wonder if I had driven into the Lord of the Rings territory.   The jewellery making party I gave was enjoyed by all!  I enjoyed the tea and home baked cupcakes, just scrumptious!

The jewellery results were spectacular too!  The design flair and creativity of my students were impeccable.  Take a look and see the results for yourself.

This necklace is made with Paua/abalone shell and silver baroque freshwater pearls designed by a student, gorgeous!
Pāua are commonly found in shallow coastal waters along rocky shorelines in depths of 1 to 10 m.
